I... I want this in my life. They're so stupidly badass. Near perfect character design, with great use of anatomy and original ideas.

Flowers10 responds:

Hahaha, thanks for all the comments man. glad u like it;)

Even the softer paint look that I usually don't like works really well here. I'm part of a pop art gallery in Asheville, and this looks like the kind of thing that sells like hotcakes over there. Beautiful.

I also 100% agree about the saturation, and your author's comment is the best I've seen on this site.

BugsAndBooks responds:

Hello Mr. Flash
and thank you very much for your review and the starry things.

Oh my, I have to consider moving to Asheville then ^^
Although I guess the gallery-folks wouldn't appreciate my weird social behavior as soon as there was a vernissage ;)

I'm very happy you like the painting even with the softer paint. Just you wait, I might make it one of my life goals to drag you to the soft side, muwahaha!
Also thanks a bunch for your kind words on my description. To be honest, I never planned on going on for so long but as it is with things you truly love, you tend to get carried away. But well, I don't mind getting swept along by great teachers and the marvelous things they help me understand.

Best wishes and may you have a glimpse at the milky way tonight

Super cute. I love your style. It's got just the right amount of underground comics style. Since it's concept art, I figure this was simply of little importance, but the background is definitely lacking compared to the foreground characters. It's a bit jarring to have these super edgy looking characters and vehicle design against obviously digital work.

Love, love, LOVE the vehicle design and I'm very curious to see what you do with the characters. I've added some of your pages to my webcomics folder.

JWBalsley responds:

Thank you for the critique, I'm glad you're enjoying my work. You're right though, I'm still experimenting with some digital painting techniques to make it a little less digital looking. On this one I was trying to figure out a way to get a decent motion effect for the ground but I'll still keep experimenting.

First of all, great job getting me interested in a comic you like!

It's a great little piece. I'd work on the ears a bit, they aren't quite right. It almost looks like a fox Chobit. The chest hair should probably be puffing out a bit more as well, as it does in the comic. Otherwise it's a bit distracting.

That's all I've got criticism-wise. Great color work, and since that was your main focus I'd say awesome job.

maficmelody responds:

Ack, I was so focused on the silhouette I goofed as hard as on my last anthro wearing a hat (which I sorta fixed). As animated as these ears can be, traditional hats are seemingly to be less and less plausible in my book (At least for big-eared ones)

I had to google Chobit, learned something new today. Thanks for the info and crit!
